‘Yahoo boys threatening to come after me, I’ll deal with them’ – Ogun Gov, Abiodun


The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has vowed to deal with internet fraudsters, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ and other criminals.
Governor Abiodun stated this on Wednesday while noting that the criminals threatened to come after him following his decision to wage war against them.

The Ogun State Governor on January 21, while relaunching the OP-MESA, noted that he will declared war on Yahoo boys as well as kidnappers.

According to Abiodun, on Wednesday, the criminals in the state are feeling the heat of the newly relaunched security outfit.

Abiodun who spoke in a meeting with the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde said criminals have decided to go after him because he had made life unbearable for them.

He said, “After we launched our OP-MESA last week, I understand that they have been working extremely hard, infact, what I heard is that those criminals are now saying that Dapo Abiodun is making life unbearable for them and that they are going to also come after me. Well, let me assure you that I will continue to make life intolerable and unbearable for you and I’m waiting for you.”

He called for bilitaral agreement between the two states, adding that there are much criminals at the border of the two states.

Governor Makinde on his part said the joint security meeting “is the right thing to do and it is absolutely important we do it.”

He further stated that he and the Ogun State Governor have defied political party differences and pursued a common goal of fighting insecurity in their states.

He insisted that state policing is vital to addressing insecurity challenges at the grassroots.
