Joe Igbokwe took to his Facebook page to give a piece of advice to the people of the South East. In his post, which he made on Sunday, February 6, 2022, he made a clarion call, appealing that the sit-at-home order issued in the South East of Nigeria should be stopped. You will recall that Senator Abaribe also called for the sit-at-home order to stop, that it is killing the South East Economy

According to Joe Igbokwe, there had been enough innocent blood shed, pain and tears inflicted on the people, havoc wreaked on the land, cherished cultures and values destroyed, incalculable damage inflicted on the zone, and a slew of other problems in the South East.

Joe Igbokwe believes that the people of the South East have ridiculed and shamed themselves enough in the eyes of other Nigerians, and that there is a need to remove the kid’s gloves and end the disaster happening in the South East, the land of the rising sun.

Joe Igbokwe revealed that the civil war that happened in the South East 50 years ago claimed over one million lives, but that the presidential election that produced President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 escalated the tension in the region.

He appealed that the agitations in the region should be put to rest and that the people should participate in the upcoming elections to produce a worthy candidate.

What do you think of Joe Igbokwe’s article? Do you think the people of the South East will heed his advice? Don’t forget to leave a comment.
