Some Nigerians on twitter are telling the stories of Horrible Bosses they have worked with. Horrible bosses don’t believe they should be held accountable in the same way as their employees.
They believe that power can be abused and that they should—of course—be held to much lower standards than you.
In their minds, they make the rules so they should be able to break them whenever and however they want.
Read below, some comments on horrible bosses on twitter:
@SpillTheBeef: A Mr Bassey at one of the biggest advertising agency in Nigeria bullies surbodinates just so he gets all the credits. And he expects that female account managers should be able to “ satisfy” clients in every way possible. #Toxicbosses #HorribleBosses
@Captainademola: Som1 said oga would buy 10 big bread a day to a festive holiday, give 3 to his 10employees to share and carry the remaining 7 home. He will still insult them upon resumption and after payment of every salary for not saying THANK YOU properly.
#horriblebosses or #horriblenigerians
@Mikelc92474741: My own share of #horriblebosses is one that still offends me so much despite the fact that it has been years I have left the said company. Imagine getting calls by 3am to explain a report you submitted & yet called vulgar names at such times.
This so called boss messed with my mental health & acted like a god. if I had spent extra months under this man I’m pretty sure I would have been mad rn, even everyone in the team had a torrid time working under him.
I hope he has turned a new leaf now. Without doubt, he is the worst boss I have ever worked with & I would never wish him on anyone, not even my worst enemy
@FavyStitches:Honestly this saga is just what it is…So my friend got this new job as a Facility Manager that of course pays more than her former. She works almost 24 hours, yes you read that right almost 24 hours but guess what that’s not even my problem.
@fiyin_bami: A friend of mine once work with such horrible boss.. Very wicked CEO who fuck my friend every day at d office n made her give her bj.. In 3mojths my friend became PA and after a year he demote her n fix another lady up when my friend told me I said let teach him #HorribleBosses

Read below the genesis of what made horrible bosses to be trending on twitter
“Ebun Okubanjo, co-founder and CEO at Bento Africa, said breaks are for pussies and fuckers, and whoever takes time out of the office for a whole week is a weak member of the team and not needed in the organisation.”
“Bento took everything from me—my sense of humanity, sanity, confidence, and trust,” Pascal*, an ex-sales executive at Nigerian payroll startup Bento Africa, said about his time working there.
“We worked around the clock. Ebun [CEO and co-founder of the company] would send you messages by 2 AM and expect a response asap. No rest. We went to bed every night praying our jobs would still be there when we woke up the next morning.”
Ex-employees also revealed gaps in Bento’s employment contract, specifically where leave days and time off were concerned. Okubanjo promised employees that they could take time off, but Bola*, another ex-employee, dispelled that promise as a myth.
“I can count on one hand how many people took leave during my stay there. Ebun said breaks are for pussies and fuckers, and whoever takes time out of the office for a whole week is a weak member of the team and not needed in the organisation,” said Bola.
“Bento took everything from me—my sense of humanity, sanity, confidence, and trust,” Pascal*, an ex-sales executive at Nigerian payroll startup Bento Africa, said about his time working there.
“Ebun scarred me. I have spent money on therapy, yet, I still suffer from anxiety.”
