Arise TV presenter Rufai Oseni, arrested for taking BRT lane, as he justifies his action [VIDEO]

A TV show presenter, Rufai Oseni, who is a tv presenter with the Arise TV was arrested by the Nigeria police, who was enforcing traffic infractions, in Lagos State.

Rufai, drove through the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, reported via his twitter handle that, he offered to pay for the traffic infraction. Justifying his action, Rufai said, “I am not a lawmaker I saw cars pass through the Supposed BRT lane and they were not stopped all of a sudden I was stopped and told I used the bus lane. If I didn’t see other cars I will not go through ,plus I want conversant if the road. in fact after I was stopped three cars also”

Rufai also said the police pointed a gun at him, and collected his car key and drove his car away. he Said, “A Nigerian police officer pointed a gun at me and forcefully took my keys and drove my car off, because he wanted to enforce a traffic infraction.”

Rufai had reported the matter to the Lagos State Police PRO Benjamin Hundeyin, how a Nigerian police officer pointed a gun at him and forcefully took his keys and drove his car off and he also admitted to the PRO that he passed a BRT lane blaming it on the google map.

When the PRO responded to him, he said,

“Rufai, let’s not do this. You admitted to me that you passed a BRT lane. It’s against the law. Your claim that google maps took you there is not tenable. You disobeyed and resisted the officers. We’ll sanction the officer who misused firearm if proven”
