Organizers were willing to pay $9 million for 50 Cent and Eminem to perform together at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but Eminem declined the offer, according to 50 Cent.
Rapper Eminem, 50, turned down the offer, the 47-year-old rapper claimed while making an appearance on Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Real 92.3.
As a result of their participation in the acclaimed Super Bowl halftime show in Los Angeles last year, which also included Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Anderson.Paak, the rapper claimed that Qatari officials were trying to hire the duo.
‘Because of the Super Bowl, I got an inquiry about World Cup and they had a budget of $9 million,’ said the rap artist, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, adding that he ‘would’ve taken’ $1 million and the remaining $8 million ‘would have been for’ Eminem.
The Candy Shop artist claimed that he attempted to work out a deal for Eminem to make an appearance but to no avail: “They’re like, “He’s not going to do it.”
If you would do a one-off show, perhaps you would do the largest live athletic event in the entire planet, 50 Cent suggested.
Remember that the competition held in Qatar sparked a number of debates, including those surrounding the nation’s human rights records, prejudice against women and members of the LGBTQ community, and the fatalities of migrant workers who had been employed to construct the stadiums where the competitions were held.
