Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State, was noticeably absent on Wednesday as Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, and Kashim Shetima, Tinubu’s running mate, visited Port Harcourt as part of their campaign rally.
Around 4 pm, the former governor of Lagos State and other APC officials arrived at the stadium for the party’s presidential rally.
Before approaching the podium, Tinubu danced and waved to the audience.
Amaechi, the leader of the APC in River State, was not present at the occasion, which has raised alarm.
Since losing out on the party’s presidential ticket, Amaechi has been relatively silent on the political scene even in his home state.
There were speculations that the former Governor is not working for Tinubu in his bid to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari due to the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.
