BARD: Google Unveils New AI Innovation To Compete With ChatGPT

In Paris, France, on Wednesday, the well-known technological behemoth Google unveiled its BARD artificial intelligence (AI).

Google unveiled Bard, a conversational AI service that uses Language Model for Dialogue Applications and is the company’s experimental offering (LaMDA).

In order to deliver answers to queries using internet information to produce fresh, high-quality responses, Bard is a “conversational AI service” that blends the breadth of the world’s information with the strength, intelligence, and creativity of its massive language models.

Thisweekng notes that on Tuesday, Microsoft announced new products and disclosed a multibillion-dollar relationship with ChatGPT (a long-form question-answering AI that conversely responds to difficult inquiries).

Bard, however, has an advantage over ChatGPT because it can remark on events that occurred after 2021 while ChatGPT cannot.

Speaking at a live introduction of the new AI technology in Paris, France, Google Vice President Prabhakar Raghavan disclosed that Bard is been used by “trusted testers”, adding that the tech would soon be released for public use in a few weeks.

Raghavan disclosed that the work put into creating BARD has been a multiyear journey, stressing that no single event had dramatically changed the course of Google’s plans.

Google executives also announced several AI-induced improvements across products including maps, translation and its image recognition tool Lens.
