Joe Igbokwe laments over the scarcity of the new naira notes in the bank (VIDEO)

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress and the Special Adviser for Drainage and Water Resources to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Joe Igbokwe has lamented over the scarcity of the new naira notes in Nigeria’s bank.

In a video posted on social media, Mr. Joe Igbokwe was seen lamenting over the non availability of the new naira note.

You will recall that the Apex Bank claimed to have massively supplied the new notes to commercial banks to dispense both at counters and ATMs. This is to enable quick circulation and advise commercial banks to desist from keeping the cash away from the public or face a stiffer sanction.

According to Mr. Joe Igbowe, he was thinking that the news of the new naira scarcity was just a rumour, not until he went to the UBA at Ogunlana Drive Surulere area of Lagos.

“I went to UBA, Ogunlana Drive. They said they have not received any new money and they are not giving out. I thought they were lying, until I came here to notice that nothing is going on, no transaction, what is going on, this is complete sabotage. Few days to the presidential election, we are witnessing this. Who is doing this, Who is doing this?”

“Was it not planned? if you know you are going to collect almost how many, 1 trillion, you could have produced 1. something trillion naira, new notes, you have all the time. What are we talking about, few days to the presidential election, i see it as a complete sabotage and those incharge, as a matter of urgency, do the needful.”

“I understand that Jaiz Bank is receiving money is giving out, money, few branches they have across Nigeria. Where did Jaiz Bank get all this money. Why are big banks like Zenith, UBA and other big banks, you know just, they are all sitting down. What is happening, This is complete sabotage, and we cannot take it, i am here to take money, they said there is no money.

What is going to happen to ordinary people. If gold rust what will iron do, UBA? Zenith? First bank? If gold rust, what will iron do?
