Seun Kuti, an Afrobeat musician, was criticized by Peter Okoye for labeling Peter Obi, a contender for the Labour Party’s presidency, an opportunist.
Seun Kuti once said that saving Nigeria requires the work of committed Nigerians, not an opportunist like Peter Obi.
Seun Kuti stated that despite his acquaintance with one of the presidential contenders, Omoyele Sowore, he feels that only Nigerians can save the country in a recent interview with TheMicOnPodcast.
He claimed that even if Sowore wins the election, he won’t be able to lead the PDP and the APC to power in the nation.
He went on to say that Peter Obi is an opportunist who switched to the LP after losing the PDP primaries.
Seun Kuti added that Obi is merely an internet president whose election begins and ends on social media, rather than in a reality in which he lacks structural background.

Peter Okoye who wasnt pleased with what he said reacted to the comments.
“Dude just erased his father’s history. You said only the people of Nigeria can save Nigeria.
“Is PO and the rest candidates not Nigerian people? Shame! Shame! Shame!!!”
