The 2023 Community Shield game on Sunday between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Wembley Stadium ended in favour of the Gunners.
After the game finished 1-1 in regulation time, it took penalties for the eventual winner to be decided and Arsenal won the spot kicks to claim the Community Shield for the 17th time in the club’s history.

In Sunday’s community shield game, the first-half encounter between the two teams ended goalless but in the second half, Cole Palmer found the back of the net for City in the 77th minute and with the game looking like it was going to finish in favour of the citizens, Arsenal got an equalizer through Leandro Trossard in the 90+11′.
With Sunday’s win, It’s the second Community Shield and third trophy in total for Mikel Arteta since he took over as the Arsenal coach in 2019.
Meanwhile, Arsenal who finished last season’s premier league campaign in second place would kick off their 2023/24 campaign with a home game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, 12th August, a day after City would have begun their title defence with an away game at Burnley on Friday, August 11.
