Kylian Mbappe has reportedly refused Al Hilal’s £260m world record offer

Kylian Mbappe has refused to talk to Al Hilal after the Saudi Pro League side’s £260million world record offer.

Reports in France from L’Equipe claim the Paris Saint-Germain superstar has said no to the eye-watering bid, and his representatives refused to enter discussions.

Al Hilal sent a delegation to Paris on Wednesday to attempt to convince Mbappe to join, but any talks have been shut down.

PSG had earlier accepted the astonishing £260m offer dwarfing the record £198m they paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017.

Keen to receive a transfer fee for a player who could leave for nothing next summer, such a figure would have been the dream scenario for the Paris side.

But Le Parisien report the club are convinced Mbappe has already agreed to join Real Madrid for free next summer.

The 24-year-old signed a two-year contract extension in the French capital last summer, but it later emerged the second year was optional.

The deadline for Mbappe to trigger an extra season until 2025 has now passed, meaning he could well leave for free in a year’s time.

On top of PSG losing out on £260m, Mbappe has turned down a reported £605m per-year salary in the Middle East.

The Saudi Pro League has seen a number of huge arrivals this summer, starting with Karim Benzema leaving Real Madrid for Al Ittihad.

Most recently Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has joined Al Ettifaq and is expected to be paid an astonishing £700,000-per-week.

Al Hilal, meanwhile, are already on their way to an all-star team, having broken the Saudi Pro League record to bring in £47m Ruben Neves from Wolves.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic soon followed from Lazio for £34m, and it appears the record will be broken again with Malcolm and Marco Verratti being chased for big money.
