Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries, announced his support for Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for president, a few days before the election on February 25.
The pastor informed his congregation of this when discussing the 2023 election, according to Thisweek.
Suleiman claims that he and his family are prepared to vote against wickedness and are in favor of the former governor of Anambra State.
Even if he is quietly supporting Peter Obi on social media, Apostle Suleman claimed that he does not participate in the noise-making.
He further warned his congregation against being tribal bigots and to vote for good leaders and not sponsors of insecurity.
Suleiman continued by saying that he has friends in all political parties, many of them are endorsing bad candidates because to what they stand to gain.
In his words: “We are going to use this anger to vote against wickedness, are you following what I’m saying? My wife, myself, and my children are fully obidient, 100% I’m not one of those that make noise on social media.
“We work at the background and support, we are fully obidient, if you like vote something else, look at me, I hardly stay in the country, I only stay, 60 days, I will be going and coming back and looking at you vote nonsense, insecurity, tribalism, bigotry, ethnicity.
“I have friends across the parties, and most of them are supporting because of what they want to get, they know that the candidate they are supporting is bad.
“They know but because of what they want to get when you support a man and you have nothing to gain, it shows that you are honest.”
